Q: Can I choose my own dentist?

A: Yes. Each patient may choose which of our general dentists or specialists will be his or her primary dentist.

Q: Do you see children?

A: Yes. While some children may be referred to pediatric practice, most are very comfortable and happy at family-friendly practices like NDA. Also, having the entire family seen in one office provides an added level of convenience for you.

Q: I’m nervous about going to the dentist. How can you help me?

A: First of all, congratulations on taking the first step yourself. Each member of our clinical and administrative staff is here to make your visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Our doctors, hygienists, and assistants have excellent chair-side manners to help put you at ease. Additional sedative measures may be taken, depending on your comfort needs and treatment, so please discuss any concerns you have about treatment with your dentist.

Q: Can I sleep during the treatment?

A: Yes. Conscious oral sedation is available. Simply talk to your provider and together we will find a solution to meet your specific needs and ensure your comfort.

Q: Can I have all of my treatment done at NDA?

A: Yes. NDA is structured to increase patient convenience. The dental team includes several specialists in addition to our general providers. This enables us to address all of our patient’s needs under one roof.

Q: What insurance is accepted at NDA?

A: Newton Dental Associates works with all insurance companies. We are happy to submit claims to your insurance provider on your behalf. Our staff is always ready to support you and answer any questions you may have.

If at any time you have questions about coverage for a future appointment, a member of our front desk staff will submit a pre-treatment estimate to your insurance company.

Q: Who should I call for a Saturday emergency?

Q: How often should I visit the dentist?

A: Regular well-care dental appointments should be at a minimum twice a year. These appointments allow our doctors to identify potential problem areas so that we can address them before they become big problems. For patients with periodontal issues, they should visit the dentist 3 to 4 times.

Q: What COVID precautions being taken?

A: Newton Dental Associates has the highest safety standards and follows the CDC, OSHA, and ADA universal precautions protocol.  In addition to those protocols we have added these additional measures:

  1. Temperature readings and health questionnaire of staff prior to each shift.
  2. Temperature readings and healths screening questions of patients as they arrive.
  3. Clinical staff use of face shields and KN95 masks.
  4. Installation of air purifiers that eliminate 99.97% of airborne viruses, allergens, molds, and bacteria in each operatory as well as common areas. 
  5. Use of high-speed evacuation
  6. Clean and disinfect public areas frequently

Q: What should I expect during the first visit?

A: Your first visit to Newton Dental Associates will be a 1 hour Comprehensive Oral Exam.  This exam will include but not limited to a full mouth exam, x-rays or review of your most recent x-ray if they were provided, and a full digital scan of your mouth.  

During the exam, the doctor will have a conversation with you about any concerns you have, your oral health, and your smile goals and expectations of the visit. The doctor will discuss their findings using the digital scan and x-rays to educate you on the recommended treatment.  Our goal is to provide you with all the necessary information you need to make the best decision you can make about your oral health.
